St John the Baptist, Yeovil

RICS Awards 2016- Highly Commended

The condition of this magnificent 14th century Perpendicular style tower had deteriorated to a point where the stonework was in danger of falling.  The contract comprised of cleaning, stonework repair including some stone replacement, pinning, stone tiles stitching and lime repair techniques, including mortar repairs and sheltercoat.

Removing glass guards to allow access to the stonework early in the project.

We also hosted demonstrations and training events as part of the contract, which were well attended and received with great interest.

The photographs below show details of the stone replacement and tiling- lovely work.

And here, the finished tower with scaffolding removed.
