West Norwood Cemetery
In 2015 SSHC Ltd were commissioned by Historic England to carry out a condition and reccommendation survey to forty monuments at risk across three London cemeteries. Structural issues were identified as significant at West Norwood Cemetery leading to the Strachey team working closely with structural engineers throughout the contract. The Strachey team later undertook emergency response treatment to critical monuments in danger of uncontrolled collapse.
In September 2018 SSHC Ltd carried out a full programme of works to the Letts and Thomas memorials, this included structural work to the vaults in a challenging environment. A new Sacrificial Lamb was carved for the Letts monument.
